'wen' is the ilocano word for 'yes.' a marathon runner screams
it as he crosses the finish line; a bird watcher exclaims it as he spots a rare specie; and a mountain climber yells it as
he reaches the peak. it is an expression of exhilaration, the same kind of exhilaration you feel as you marvel at the beauty
that is ilocos. visit ilocos. . . and shout WEN!
ILOCOS NORTE. . .
.
. . has everything. the western foot of the cordillera mountain ranges dominate the eastern portion of the province where
centuries-old primary forests, host to countless wildlife and flora, cover the lands; not to mention the waterfalls and the
white waters. go up north and witness the turbulent waters where the pacific ocean and china sea seem to have a perpetual
contest on who has bigger waves. move west and marvel at the pristine and unspoilt white sands of the beaches. a little further
to the south and you can stand in a spot where you can continuously turn around and yet see nothing but vast, huge expanses
of sand; nothing but soft, silky, silvery sand.
